Dash Parr is a character from the movie ‘The Incredibles’. His full name is Dashiell Robert Parr, and he was born with the ability of super speed. He is part of the Parr family, which is made up of Bob Parr (Mr Incredible), Helen Parr (Elastigirl), Violet Parr and Jack-Jack Parr. This Character was first shown in the movie The Incredibles in 2004, and the last time we have seen him was in Incredibles 2.
Dash is a funny and cool character and wants to grow up to be just like his father. He is very Adventurous and is always full of energy. He is said to be one of Pixar’s greatest characters, but that is up to the audience to choose. The creator of the Incredibles (Brad Bird) wanted each character’s superpower to be based on their personality. So as Dash is a 10-year-old boy, they are more energetic so he gave Dash the power of Speed. Dash is very mischievous and is always fighting with his sister. John Walker (The Producer) Said that “Dash had just got a taste of Crime fighting in the first movie”. Dash is always trying to show off to everyone how fast he is.
Dash has a fun personality and is very competitive. Dash, unlike his Sister, is not ashamed of his abilities and does not see the point in hiding them, he believes they make him special. Although he fights with his Sister Violet a lot, he shows that he cares for her when he saves her from one of Syndrome’s Minions in the first movie. Dash is very happy with his powers and Calls himself “The Dash”.
When he and Violet are being chased by Syndrome’s minions in the first movie they find out that they can combine their abilities to become even stronger. Another time when Dash and Violet are alone looking for Jack-Jack in the second movie, they save their parents from the ScreenSlavers control. Dash unlike normal superheroes with speed is very young but powerful at the same time. When his family requires help he is always willing to do the best that he can. For example, Dash’s superspeed helped him, Violet and Elastigirl, to get across the water.
People have rated Dash as the sixth-best superhero in Incredibles 2. Joshua Tyler of CinemaBlend quoted “He’s completely in love with his superpowers, the way any kid would be if he knew he could run at the speed of sound. He’s crazy for adventure, drunk with the idea of being a hero and for him, The Incredibles is one fantastic game where he’s finally allowed to run as fast as he can”. The voice of Dash Parr was an Eleven-year-old boy named Spencer Fox, who is now in a band, who got replaced by another 10-year-old boy when Fox grew up.
Dash is always getting into trouble at school and using his powers, but his teachers don’t have that much proof it was him. Dash wants the world to know who he is. Dash is a very competitive boy and when it came to his school race he had to be, not too slow but, then again not too fast. Dash is one of my favourite Incredibles characters and is very interesting in his ways. If I could meet him I would have lots of questions for him, like if you have superspeed, why can’t you just run around the world so fast that it goes back in time?. But I guess we would have to leave that to the Pixar company to find out, so I always say…bye and come back to see more of my blogs.
